MADDSA Meeting Minutes April 13, 2006

Introductions

 

I.                    DD Coordinator report-Sandra Butts

A.     New Staff update: Case Managers

More meet and greet opportunities to orientate them.

B.     Outcome Session.  Vliet St to continue system focus for service outcome measures.  One primary outcome for workday/day programming.  Not yet focusing on Consumer outcome.  Trying to standardize these systems.  Children's have been pretty much set for birth -3.

1.  Fear of different programs being compared due to different population.  Hope to be compared to ourselves and our own baseline.

C.     Relocation:  Planning sessions.  St. Kaletas/Bethesda and state centers.  More info next month.  Trying to narrow it to number of individual.   Guardians are reluctant, challenged to display that community settings are safe.  We need to revisit this again.

D.     DD Counsel interested in supportive employment initiative:  Required to do data collection for 2006.  Discussion at next meeting on how to expand and support it.

E.      RFP- for respite home next week.  Newspaper announcement for mental/behavioral health crisis.

1.      Hole for system with getting signature of guardians, statement of noncommunicable, and health release form doctor in a timely manner to meet state requirements.

II.                 General Issues: All

A   TAPPER report- Republican event to control spending.  Contact your state Rep to express concerns of spending.

B.   No meeting August 2006 for MADDSA

C.  EasterSeals/Kindcare:  Handout of trainings and events

D.  Medicaid Electronic software handout was left for those interested or in need of.  DHF website if need more info on their recent requirement to utilize the electronic system.

E.   Fall prevention handout was left

F.   Tues April 25 Waukesha Public hearing in front of Health and Family Services board at Waukesha County Expo  7pm

G.  Question raised for Rewards/recognition Committee from past?  Are we doing this?

1.      2d Tues of every month for meeting  UCP 1-2:30pm  (MCTAB)

2.      Need funds for conference in Oct for Families.  Unsure of size.  St.  Joes outpatient $150  Trying a Sat to get more parents

E.      Transit Committee:  Cheri Bruch

1.      Updated T-19 providers hard to tie down to details at this time.  Will attempt to make questions smaller in hopes that more calls would be returned.

2.        Transit meeting repeatedly rescheduled with Geri Lyday latest update 4/19/06

a.       Geri did state that the county is trying to get a list of T-19 providers to become a centralized list for medical needs.

b.      Cheri will contact Shirin from the state to see how they are progressing on that for next meeting.
